It was the game of the day in the UCL. Europe's most successful football team Real Madrid played host to Les Parisiens in what was billed to be an exciting game. The game lived up to it's billing but Los Blancos didn't excite many today. Great result for Madrid but a poor display.
With many key players still out, fatigue is starting to take a toll on Madrid players. It was so evident today. The return of James, Benzema, Bale and Carvajal cannot come any sooner for madridistas. The sight of James on the bench was a joy to behold. Same applies to Kovacic's short second half display.
Madrid emerged with three vital points in a game characterised by many poor key passes in the final third. The midfield and attack seemed not to connect in many occasions. On another day, the result may have been different. I just hope Marcelo's injury isn't so serious. CR7 is overworked. I think he needs a break soon.
In other news, Man. City seems to have found their European form and Manchester United secured an important victory against CSKA. Wayne Rooney must be a relieved man after his goal tonight. Tomorrow promises to be another interesting UCL night. Stay tuned.
