The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)in the 2015 governorship election in Kaduna state, Mr. Polycarp Danladi Gankon, has filed an appeal against the judgment of the governorship tribunal sitting in Kaduna.
The governorship tribunal had last month dismissed APGA petition against the declaration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai as the winner of the April 2015 election.
Irked by the judgment of the tribunal which upheld the election of Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai, the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate said, “We are not comfortable with the judgment of the election tribunal as it is critical to the polity and politics of the people of Kaduna State.”
“What we saw was judgment and not justice. We observed that the whole procedure from the beginning to the end has a big question mark,” he said.

He added, “What we are doing today is to tell the whole world that we have gone to the next step to demand for what we strongly believe was not given to us. All we are after is for justice to be clearly spelled out on the case for the people of Kaduna State.”
While acknowledging the fact that a lot of issues would be revealed at the Court of Appeal, he wandered why with over 4,000 polling units out of the 5,000 polling units in the state with lots of alterations on the certificate of election in each polling unit said, “APGA had no choice than to listen to the general out cry of the people of the state to demand from what they believe was taken away from them.”
