At least 1,167 fail Bar Finals

The Nigerian Law School on Wednesday in Abuja announced that 71 percent of the 4, 610 students that wrote the Bar Final Examination conducted in September were successful.

A statement signed by Dr. Olanrewaju Onadeko, the school’s Director-General, declared that 3,273 out of the 4,610 students passed the examination.
Dr. Onadeko said 170 (3.7 percent) had conditional pass, while 1,167 (25.3 percent) failed.
He added that eight students had First Class.
The First Class candidates are – Okwor Kenneth Dominic, Uche Eresi Tracy and Okezie Justice Ndubuisi all from the Lagos campus of the school.
Abuja campus produced two namely – Bukoye Temitope Olayemi and Bandawa Ntayi Anfani.
Two candidates – Edun Halimat Temitope and Aare Adejoke Kafayat were from the Enugu campus.
Amoo Oluwatobi Ayobode was the only First Class student from the Kano Campus.
The Call to Bar ceremony has been fixed for December 15 and 16 in Abuja.
Congrats to the successful ones. I'm yet to understand why the failure rate seems to have increased since last year. Could it be higher standards, lower quality of graduates or just sadistic examiners? Lawyers in the house, help me out.
