'I love Wizkid to death' -Wande Coal
Wande Coal has addressed the purported beef between Wizkid and Davido, saying it's just competition but he loves Wizkid to death. When asked by the Sun if both artistes look up to him, he said
I love their music, but the only person that I can say we went through a lot together and have major interest in is Wizkid. He has learnt and I think he is a great kid. I love him to death. He is my brother. Davido is doing his own thing. In the game, there is going to be friction at some point. People have to understand that music is competitive.
Assist us to curb corruption in Nigeria's oil sector -Buhari urges International Community
Press statement from the presidency...
President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday in Malta urged the international community to do more to support the Federal Government’s efforts to curb corruption in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. Speaking at a group meeting of Commonwealth leaders on corruption chaired by Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain, President Buhari said that corruption in the oil sector and outright theft of Nigeria’s crude oil had been exacerbated by the culture of impunity which reigned under previous administrations.

FG faults El Rufai on Jonathan's independence day spending
The Federal Government has countered a claim by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, that the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan spent N64bn on Independence Day celebrations between 2011 and 2015.
El-Rufai, in a Facebook post on October 1, had hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly budgeting N70m for this year’s Independence Day anniversary celebration.
In 2010, Jonathan spent N10bn for Nigeria’s golden jubilee celebration, el-Rufai had said.
He added, “This is the APC/PMB change we voted for. Independence anniversary expenditure for the past five years: 2011 – N13bn; 2012 -N15bn; 2013 – N14bn; 2014 – N22bn and 2015 -N70m coming from present administration.”
But in contrast to el-Rufai’s claim, the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in response to a Freedom of Information request by BudgIT Nigeria, noted that the Jonathan administration had spent N332.6m for the anniversary celebrations.
It further noted that N1.7bn was spent on the country’s 2010 golden jubilee celebration and N138,138,000 on the centenary honours awards in 2014.

A third party memo to Mr. President -Dele Momodu
Your Excellency, it’s been months since I wrote my desperate memo to you. I wish to thank you once more for reacting promptly and swiftly at that time and for giving me the honour and privilege of meeting you in your office. I remember presenting you a special compilation of my articles, especially the many admonitions to your immediate predecessor, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. After handing over the book to you, Sir, I promised to continue acting in my self-appointed capacity as Special Adviser because of the need to tell you what those very close to you might not be able to say. They might be afraid of you and your reaction. The truth is you are a plain and simple man imbued with a mission and a passion to save this great country but you cannot do it on your own. You can only do it if people close to you, who should be advising you, tell you as it is so that you can do that which you were elected to do.
Sir, it is on the above basis that I’m back today for reasons some of which you probably know already from your own personal observations and readings. But before I go further, kindly permit me to set some records straight before some conspiracy specialists step forward to ascribe other people’s opinion to me. I shall clearly expose my personal views and state where I belong or stand for any avoidance of doubt. Everywhere I go people refer to me as Buhari’s man and ask “what’s your Baba doing ooo?”. I seriously have no problem with that. I’m proud that I joined so many other Nigerians as well as foreign friends in supporting a man of impeccable pedigree and solid integrity. No matter your view of President Muhammadu Buhari, one thing his bitterest enemies give to him is the fact that he is way above the level of most mortals in matters of uprightness.
This is why many of us volunteered to scream your name to high heavens and we were ready to follow you to Golgotha. Many of your opponents have not gotten over the thrashing you gave them and would forever seek everything and anything to smear you with. It is therefore not surprising that there has been so much noise about what you’ve done or left undone. Whether they are right or wrong in their assessment, I feel it is right and proper to let you know what people are saying about you including your most ardent fans and supporters. Sir, please, let’s not dismiss them as mere rabble-rousers. A groundswell of public opinion can easily metamorphose into an ocean of disenchantment and cataclysmic confusion. In short, I believe your enemies are skilfully setting you up for failure in order to be able to taunt your supporters later by saying we “we told you so!” In this regard it is pertinent to always bear in mind the Yoruba saying ‘ehin kunle l’ota wa, ile ni a se ni ngbe’! Loosely translated it means “the enemy lurk outside in the backyard but your foe resides inside your house.”
What is the matter this time? Many Nigerians are lamenting that the change you promised them is fast becoming a mirage. It is certainly not what they are seeing right now. They insist that your style and methodology appear too slow for a nation in dire straits and in need of urgent and miraculous deliverance. They are not happy that you are no longer the prudent man they used to know. They think you’ve already capitulated by frolicking with members of the bourgeois class and junketing around the world while Nigeria burns like Dante’s inferno. They are miffed that you are still keeping the Presidential fleet when you are supposed to have sold most of them off, if not all. They are worried that the mandate of four years they gave you is being unwittingly frittered away and before you know it all the goodwill you garnered would have evaporated and vamoosed. Time, they say, waits for no man!
The economy and the free fall of the Naira have become worrisome. There are all manner of rumours that may make matters worse, if true, about the current state and status of our banks. Though the Central Bank of Nigeria has come out forcefully to dispel the dangerous rumours, they want you to unleash your economic master-plan as soon as possible, so that what was once a baseless rumour does not somehow become harsh reality. They are expecting a blue-print that would guarantee a farewell to poverty. On this I agree with the opinion that something drastic has to be conjured up to arrest this drift to perdition. Nothing amplifies this monumental tragedy than the debit card fiasco which stipulates that Nigerians cannot live in a civilised world by walking into any international hotel or shop of their choice and paying with their cards. This is terribly depressing.
What this means in plain terms is that Nigerians must patronise the black market and run the risk of carrying cash recklessly whenever they travel abroad. It makes a mockery of the cashless society that the CBN has fought so hard to put in place and jeopardises your fight against corruption because government officials who travel abroad must of necessity carry large sums of cash if they are not to be embarrassed or even disgraced. Sir, the most important thing is that this is not healthy at all. The last thing your Government should be telling the world is that we are so broke that we are on our knees. The world laughs at us and treats us with derision because we have resources other than crude oil which should make us one of the richest in the world if we properly harness them. We must stop giving the impression that we are so impoverished when it is leadership, brigandage and a lack of focus that has failed us.
The other matter that continues to embarrass Nigerians is the issue of Boko Haram. The matter is made worse by the fact that you are a retired army General who should know and have what it takes to drastically reduce if not exterminate the cankerworm. But rather the menace has exacerbated. It has snowballed into a seemingly unquenchable conflagration. I had argued repeatedly that the military alone cannot achieve this result. Intelligence seems to be the key word here. Also identifying and locating some of the cells and prominent sympathisers is crucial. Those who arrogantly and naively say that no form of negotiation should take place are very far from the theatre of war. They have probably not heard of a group called IRA, the Irish Republican Army, that terrorised Great Britain for God knows how many years. I and my directors at Ovation International were lucky to escape a massive explosion that shattered the peace and tranquillity of London Docklands when a bomb went off inside the South Quay light rail station which was next to our office at Beaufort Court. The battle of wits and the war of attrition had to be fought using the carrot and the stick approach. It was the carrot approach that eventually succeeded and the United Kingdom has now been rid of that hitherto interminable scourge for many years!
The Boko Haram issue has defied every effort made so far and it is time to expand the options for the sake of our fellow citizens in the heart of this conundrum. When over 200 girls vanished into thin air, we were so sure they would return very soon but that has remained an illusion. This should tell us that this issue is not a joke and that we need to keep all windows open. Sir, Nigerians want to see government show a different approach and better compassion than what we had in the past. They are waiting to see how you will do this with minimum collateral damage.
Sir, you have a herculean task ahead but it is not a mission impossible. Other nations are experiencing almost similar challenges and they are forging ahead. The first indicator to exhibit our seriousness is when we stop the business as usual syndrome and tighten the belts of government officials and politicians. If the idea is to continue along the path of profligacy then Nigeria is contagiously jinxed. The Republic of Tanzania has already taken the lead. I will publish a report that has already gone viral below this letter as a veritable example of what is possible.
I wish you well as always Sir.

“(This is what is called change) UPDATES FROM TANZANIA POST ELECTION ACTIVITIES
Last weekend they were opening parliament and there was a state dinner planned for all guests that was going to cost about 300m. President Magulufi cut the budget to 25m and ordered that the rest be taken to buy hospital beds for Muhimbili. They got 300 beds and mattresses and 600 bedsheets from that money.
On 23rd Nov 2015 he announced that there will be no official ceremonies for Independence Day on 9th December, the money is to be used for more pressing issues and the day should instead be spent cleaning up our environment.
On Saturday 21st Nov 2015 a group of 50 people were about to set off for a tour of commonwealth countries (don’t know for what) but President Magulufi cut that list down to 4 people, saving government 600m in tickets, accommodation and per diems.
No more foreign travel, embassies will take care; if it’s necessary to go, special permission must be sought from him or Chief Secretary.
No more 1st class and business class travel for all officials except President, Vice, and Prime Minister.
No more workshops and seminars in expensive hotels when there are so many ministry board rooms available.
President Magulufi asked how come engineers are given V8s when a pick-up is more suitable for their jobs.
No more sitting allowances. How the hell are you paid allowance for a job which you have a monthly salary? That also applies to MP’s.
President Magulufi has literally pressed the reset button; returning Tanzania to default factory settings, because that was the TZ Nyerere left us with.
On the day after he was brought to power, in the morning as State House officials were showing him round he decided to take a walk to ministry of finance, told them to get their act together, asked why some employees weren’t in office (ever since then the traffic jam in mornings has become worse) and ordered TRA to scrap all tax exemptions, everyone must pay taxes especially the big guys
President Magulufi went to Muhimbili Hospital unannounced and walked through the worst parts that they keep hiding from important visitors. He fired the director, fired the hospital board and ordered that all machines that weren’t working (so that people go to private hospitals owned by some doctors) to be repaired within 2 weeks otherwise he fires even the new director; the machines were repaired in 3 days
Finally, last week when going to officially open parliament President Magulufi didn’t go by plane, drove the whole 600km from Dar to Dodoma.
President Magulufi has reduced the size of the presidential convoy, even reduced the size of presidential delegation that travels with him
President Magulufi chose a Prime Minister we haven’t heard of before, a guy with reputation for hard work and no corruption. All the big guys we expected could be PM have been let wondering what hit them.
His motto is: Hapa Kazi Tu
After President Magulufi visited ministry of finance and Muhimbii Hospital without announcing, it is said the ports, (most corrupt, delaying, thieving officials) were all of a sudden the most efficient place. No loads are missing, things are done quickly and that habit of forcing for a bribe so that your container is released is no more.
Oh, they say when he was confirmed as winner people started congratulating him and wanting to bring gifts to his place he turned them back, saying he will receive all congrats over the phone, nobody should visit him.
All individuals/firms that bought state companies that were privatized but haven’t done anything (20yrs later) are to either revive the industries immediately or hand them back to the government.”
How I wish President Buhari and Vice-President Osinbajo will take some cue from this truly ‘change’ agent!

Mustapha Audu responds to Sugabelly's allegations. Warning: Long Read
Perhaps the biggest rape scandal of the decade, the case of Lotanna Odunze-Igwe and Mustapha Audu, one of the sons of Prince Abubakar Audu, a former two-time governor of Kogi State who passed on last Sunday is an interesting one. Lotanna, popularly known by her social media identity, @sugabelly on Sunday exposed horrible details of how she repeatedly suffered sexual abuse in the hands of Mustapha, his brothers, his cousin and his friends. Her tweets, laced with graphic details of brutal sexual assault came moments after news of Prince Audu’s death filtered into the Nigerian media. Her story, gory and dehumanising as she portrayed it, immediately drew the sympathy of a wide section of the Nigerian public with condemnation and attacks targeted at the alleged perpetrators of what many thought was only possible in seedy x-rated Hollywood productions. All through this moment, the accused were silent. Their side of the story was completely lost in the social media mob that was already screaming blue murder! Perhaps, the accused sons of the late Prince Audu were too engrossed mourning the demise of their father to be bothered about allegations and condemnations that had gone viral in the social media. Just yesterday, Friday November 27, 2015, the accuser once again released another bombshell, this time a detailed blog account of her ordeal in the hands of Mustapha, his brothers, his cousins, and his friends. It was a chilling story that sparked further sympathy towards the “victim” and more condemnation towards the alleged perpetrators. In this exclusive interview, Publisher of SIGNAL, Ohimai Amaize and Editor of SIGNAL, Yemi Adebowale sat down in a chat somewhere in an apartment in Asokoro, Abuja face to face with the man in the eye of the storm, Mustapaha Abubakar Audu. This is his story:
Who is ‘Sugabelly’ to you?
Lotanna as her real name is called, is someone who we were colleagues together while I was serving at an IT firm in Abuja called Alteq. She was a staff at Alteq. We were colleagues for a while and at some point we dated for about two months. I came back to Nigeria in 2006, and it was at Alteq I first met her. I’m not sure how long she had worked there before I came to the company for my NYSC. It was a long time ago. I was about 24 then. We talked like every other person. There was a time she had a party for the office, I thought it was a party for the office but it was her birthday party, her 18th birthday party. It was in March of that year. I didn’t go for it. I usually don’t go to office parties. I had another business. I was working at my company and at the IT firm as well. So one day at the office she came to me and harassed me that I missed her party and I said, oh, don’t worry I will make it up to you. I will take you out for sharwarma and I took her to 212; then they used to sell sharwarma. This was the first time I took her out. There are emails to corroborate this. From then on we started talking. She was a very interesting personality. She is very brilliant and she reads a lot of books. I read a lot of books too and I don’t meet people who read a lot of book. I used to read a lot of fantasy books. All these Game of Thrones people are watching as movies now, I read them as books like ten years ago. Knights of Shallaman, Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings, Inheritance Cycle, many many books I read years ago and there were very few people who knew these things. She was one of them. She read a lot and she wrote. She was a very brilliant writer; in fact, I think that was why she was working as someone’s secretary at the office. She used to write a lot of letters for the company. Claims have emerged from her that as at January of 2007 I was in a relationship with her and doing all sorts of wicked things to her. Just like now, in December, precisely December 17, 2006, I lost my mum. I was in the UK. I watched my mum die. I loved my mum. I brought her body back to Nigeria, so just like now I was going through a period of grief. So it wasn’t possible all the things she is claiming that I did. I would be mourning.
How long did your relationship (affair) with her last?
Our relationship lasted like a month and a half. Not even up to two months. I found out she was sleeping with my friends. She slept with a couple of my friends. I discovered and told her about it. She told me she loved me, she wanted to marry me and was madly and deeply in love with me. And I told her it’s not possible, we can’t get married because I am not at the stage where I wanted to be married. And you’ve had something to do with my friends, so the relationship ended. While we were in the relationship, she had told me things about her mum, that she hated her mum, her mum wasn’t there for her and stuff like that. She sent me an email once making reference to her having visions of violent rape the first time that we had something physically. She said she had visions of violent rape from a past memory and that we weren’t close enough for her to tell me the details. On one occasion then when we spoke on the phone, she said I shouldn’t abandon her, and then she told me that her mum’s boyfriend raped her. She said a lot of negative things about her mum. This was part of the reason I didn’t want to release these emails to protect her.
But the main reason I am doing this is because I got a call today, someone told me that her friends disclosed that she’s being planning this for while, she is actually writing a book and planning to finish a book, she wants to start an NGO, she wants to appeal to the US government about surviving rape in Africa and she wants to use my family, because of my family’s political name to get traction. I heard she is getting influential people involved, I hear she has involved the lady behind the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili. Dr. Ezekwesili reminds me of my mum. She reminds me of someone who should have been my mum and if someone said something about your son, you shouldn’t immediately go to the world and say “Oh, you are this or that.” At least call your son, hear him out. And this is not even about me wanting to say anything to defend myself.
Please read the communication between me and this girl. Everytime I sent her a message, it was always about “How are you doing? Hope you are doing okay? Don’t be too nasty in college. But I know you are very smart and you will do well.” Even in the emails, I mentioned that I encouraged her. She even sent me a message on Facebook apologizing for flirting with my friends, how she loves me and I told her, it’s okay. It’s not the end of the world. And now, people are saying I’m such a beast and I’m such a monster. You didn’t even talk to me. You didn’t even ask me… These things are so horrific. What kind of person can actually do these things? Not only did I do that and I did it with my younger brother that was just 15 back then? I did that with my older brother who was about 30 years old then? And this older brother is not my immediate older brother. He is two brothers ahead of me. Then my cousin? Then my friends? Then the Nigeria Police Force? This is such a movie.
How is your family reacting to this?
Of course it’s very hard. We are mourning. She’s been releasing these this for a while. She’s been doing this for a while but my family has kept quiet all along because we know the truth. Yes, some of my family members are really shaken right now. We are grieving. I have just been orphaned. I loved my dad. My dad is a hero. Anybody from Kogi State knows that. Look at his burial. How many people have received his burial? Look at the whole country? If we were such wicked people, if my dad was a monster, would people react? There was a rumour that my dad had risen. If you saw the people the way they were praying and rejoicing. And now this girl has used this unfortunate incident to capitalize in painting my family as evil…
How long have you been married?
I have been married for like six years now. I got married December 15, 2009. And that was when my problem with her really started; when she found out I got married.
Have you ever raped anyone?
Come on, why would I do that? It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. I can never and will never support such heinous act. Come on! It’s not even a question you ask a normal person. It’s like asking, have you committed murder before? Because it’s such an inhuman thing! And I understand why people would do this and she’s brilliant. Because she knows human beings are emotional and sentimental. Play on their intelligence. Play on the fact that women have been raped before and for us men, we hardly speak up. I am not saying men are angels. I’m not saying I am an angel. But I have never raped anyone in my life before. I am happily married. I have three little daughters. I can’t even imagine it. God!
You know what? I am going to step out for those who have been accused falsely. There are a lot of people who have been falsely accused. You know, because of my last name, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to speak up. You see, people don’t even need to hear me speak. Just read the conversation I had with this lady and you can read her blog. It’s just a blog. You can compare the two. In my email conversations with her, you can tell that I have genuine feelings for her and she has genuine feelings for me. We are communicating as human beings. Then you read this blog and it’s something else. In her mails to me, you will read her asking about me, my brothers, my friends, my cousins, telling me how she knows that I’m so hardworking and that I’m a good person. I don’t understand how that translates to a blog that says I was such a terrorist.
What do you think she wants from you? It’s fame. It’s simple. Fame. She has skills and in her heart, she’s found out that you know what? My blog isn’t really getting a lot of traction, I’ve been working on this story, I’ve been writing a book, so let me put out this story first. First, she got some Twitter people to put it up, when that didn’t get as much traction, she resorted to this. That was the groundwork for this. Now she has put this on her blog and everybody is going to her blog, she is about to launch a book on surviving rape in Africa; all of this is some sort of elaborate plan to make money and fame to the detriment of someone who hasn’t done anything to her. Whatever it is that’s bothering her, I think her mum should speak to her. Her mum honestly needs to speak to her. Her being in the US and being away might not be the best solution. She should actually have a sit down. What is bothering her? She told me she hates her mum, that her mum’s boyfriend raped her. Let her talk to her mum about that. What is your next line of action? It has to be a legal action. I’m not doing this because I want money from her. The suit I am going to carry out against her has nothing to do with money. I want her to write a public apology, publish it in the newspaper, take down her blog and retract all she said against me. I want all those she has lied to, to know she lied against me. She needs to come out and tell the world: “I lied about this. These people are innocent of all I said against them.” That’s what I want from her.
And going forward, I want people like Dr. Ezekwesili to think before they act. People called me to draw my attention to her tweets. I thought she was fighting for a cause. I thought she was a mother. I know her sons and they know me. Chine and Chuba used to play football together with me every weekend. They know me. I am not a rapist. I had a mother and my mother would not be proud of Dr. Ezekwesili. What would have been her first reaction if this same girl accused her sons of rape? Would she have gone first to Twitter to condemn them? Would she have gone first to Afe Babalola SAN? If that would be her first reaction, then I must confess, she must be a really terrible mother. Is her cause real? What cause is she on? Is it because Bring Back Our Girls is no longer working? Dr. Ezekwesili, please read the emails. Your sons will tell you the same. They are my friends. They know I’m not a rapist. Have you approached me? Have you said who is the person? Let me approach him? Let me reach out? Please someone give me his number. She didn’t do this, instead she went to Afe Babalola. Chuba is my good friend. If they said this about Chuba, would she go to Afe Babalola? Please answer me?
I never did anything to Lotanna, read the emails. Don’t even listen to me, please read the emails. Since she’s made claims, read our mail conversations after the events she alleged occurred had happened. Read her timelines. Some of these terrible events were occurring and she wasn’t talking about it? She’s emailing me and I’m emailing her and not for once was it mentioned? Common! No, that just means nothing was actually going on except our normal conversation. I had other people in the office that left, some for the UK that I still chat with. We were colleagues!
What is your advise to men out there who find themselves in your kind of situation?
I have to stand up for those who have been victimized, those who have been condemned even before they were given a chance to defend themselves. I will be fighting, like my father who has always been a fighter. And I am a winner. I will fight this and anyone who believes that what I have done is so terrible based on the allegations, I will ask you, please come and ask me. Come and hear my own. If you are not satisfied then you can do anything. The truth is out there. Nobody right now in the country knows what I am feeling right now, the trauma and the stress. Everyone is calling either to condole with me or to condemn me for what was alleged against me. People are asking, what did you do? I am under tremendous pressure. At the same time, I am grieving. I don’t have a mum anymore and I don’t have a dad. A lot is going on. I can’t even breathe. No one cares. Everyone just sees me now as a monster; this guy, his family… and its very painful and it could cause a long-term damage not just for me.
Unfortunately, I am not active in the social media and even if I was, I don’t think it is appropriate to just expose her and her family issues. That’s why I kept quiet. But to all those out there who are quick to jump to conclusion when you hear one side of the story, please have a rethink. It’s not fair. I was long guilty before anybody decided to contact me to hear my side of the story. I thank those who refused to jump to conclusion, but for the many majorities who did, it’s not right, especially given this time that I am grieving. I just got orphaned. It is very very sad. She probably did this because she knows I will protect her. I have children and I know what it’s like. I will not release everything she sent to me. But please read the emails and Facebook conversation.
I will also like to appeal to mothers today. They need to take responsibility for their children. I am certain that there are many people sitting and rotting in jail because of this. I will not go down quietly. I will not let them tarnish the good name and image my father built. I will not let someone my family’s grief as an opportunity to launch a social or a media career. I will not allow it to happen. I will start a legal process and I will sue everyone who decides to make me their next launch pad. Once this is over and the dust settles down, I will be starting an NGO for those who have been falsely accused and for those who have been falsely accused by authorities bigger than them and for those who have been falsely accused of rape. I believe they need a voice and I will be that voice.

This gist has taken another dimension. The Law Enforcement agencies should get involved. We need to find out the truth. Gang rape is too serious to be ignored. Same applies if Sugabelly fabricated the story. Whatever the case is, she needs help. The truth has to be revealed as this is now a public issue.
Mourinho 'blasts' Drogba for saying Chelsea lacks leaders
Jose Mourinho might have gone too far in blasting a Chelsea legend and fan favorite especially now he needs the fans by his side in the worst era of his managerial career. Stunning Russian lawmaker and husband blown up while having s*x in their car
A glamorous local Russian lawmaker and her husband - both semi-naked on the back seat of their Toyota RAV4 - died when a bomb exploded in the vehicle.
The couple had a four year daughter who was not in the car, and is safe, but is now left parentless.
According to the Siberian Times ,Witnesses said the mangled bodies were in the rear seat of their car after the 10.50 pm explosion on Thursday, and that both were partially undressed when they were removed from the vehicle. It was suggested that the couple may have been enjoying a romantic tryst in their parked car close to her workplace when the explosion occurred, but police were discounting this theory.
A law enforcement source said that judging by the severity of their injuries, the husband, Nikita himself may have unleashed the explosive, allegedly a grenade.
Other accounts suggested the explosives could have been planted inside or under the vehicle. There is no official confirmation of these versions. He had accused his wife of cheating, according to local reports which could not be verified.
It was also claimed that their relationship had become strained because her husband Nikita Bobrovsky was out of work, leaving her as the sole breadwinner. She worked as a lawmaker and also as a deputy general director of Diskus Plus company, one of Novosibirsk city's largest construction firms.

SHOCKING: '3500 MALE PROSTITUTES INVADE ABUJA'
The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) on Thursday, November 26, made a shocking discovery that about 3, 500 male s*x workers are plying their illicit trade in Abuja.
This revelation was made by the director-general of NACA, Professor John Idoko at the agency maiden lecture marking this year’s World AIDS Day.
Idoko added that the most disturbing aspect of the discovery was the identification that 60% of the male s*x workers were married men, The Nation reports.
He noted that this trend will cause grave danger to their spouses that might be exposed to Human Immuno-Deficiency Virus (HIV).
The NACA chief noted that the agency was working hard to identify areas where these male s*x workers ply their trade in order to end this trend
Idoko said “We found that if we focus our resources in three council areas of Gwagwalada, Bwari and Abuja Municipal, we would have covered a greater population of persons with HIV within the area.”
He pointed out that the AIDS control agency was developing interventions system to help in the reduction of contacts between infected and uninfected persons.
In a related development, the police in Delta state had reported the arrest of twenty-one students allegedly involved in gay activities within the state.
The suspected gays were reportedly arrested at two unnamed state-owned polytechnics in Asaba.

This news is so disturbing. I guess the figures are exaggerated sha. 3500 is quite a lot. Same applies to 60% of that figure.
Buhari's cabinet and the infrastructural drive; Where are the Engineers? By Christian Okwori
The action we take mirrors our minds and points at the direction of our resultant movement whether intentional or not. Nigeria is a nation in dire need of infrastructure development in order to rescue her citizenry from the grim pangs of poverty, youth restiveness, insecurity, high interest rates, spiraling job losses, and unemployment. It’s high time we confront these challenges and the best, quickest, and easiest way to achieve these is by putting round pegs in round holes. This requires the apportioning of responsibility to ability which starts with fixing political appointees in offices related to their education and practices. This is where the present administration of President Mohammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo are getting it partially wrong by snubbing engineers in highly technical appointments that now more than ever require the professional touch of engineers.
President Mohammadu Buhari on the 8th of November inaugurated his attorney-studded ministers which out rightly gave the jobs of engineers and allied technical professionals to lawyers and graduates of humanities. This is a government upon which a lot of hope is been vested to bring about a quick but enduring change premised on massive creation of social amenities and massive infrastructural drive. I agree that political allies need to rip the fruit of their labour but to what extent.
While the leadership c*m administrative abilities of former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN and some others may not be in question as to their personalities, it is quite glaring that the appointment of lawyers to head core engineering ministries like power, works, housing, transport, communication, and mining is an unmistakable disregard for engineering and allied professionals if not a slap in the face. Countries that are in dire need to develop the real sector usually turn to engineers in shopping for most of their cabinet members especially at the critical moments where national development is quite a necessity like that of Nigeria is at the moment. Check out countries like Iran, China, Malaysia, Russia, Germany, The Koreas, and Indonesia and so on who made their giant techno-economic leaps by having engineers in the saddle of respective areas or as cabinet majority. Are we now surprised why we are still standing where we have been for decades while the aforementioned nations have since left us behind to join the global elite economies? We must put our money where our mouth is or else we may never stop crying. This is no professional chauvinism but a commonsense analysis of our national situation.
The issue is not just about the immediate ministries but about professional representation. How do you develop the real sector when the requisite professionals virtually don’t exist in your cabinet? How will the decision making be done especially now that lawyers have penetrated the real estate sectors thereby pushing the trained estate practitioners to the background and even owning most of the construction companies. In a cabinet of over ten lawyers with only two engineers how can the government make progressive decisions like restricting lawyers to only advisory roles in areas outside the legal profession? There must not be sentiment in this if we choose to progress as a nation.
Not using the real professionals as heads of sectors is partly why even gurus of global economic expertise have failed as finance ministers to transform the economy despite their brilliance. The real sector must be on ground upon which the service (or paper) based sectors can build. The right expert should head the right ministry.
Engineers, architects, surveyors, and allied professionals as top government and political appointees make the best choice for lifting Nigeria out of the quagmire of global infrastructural embarrassment and catalysts for economic transformation.
