It's almost done and dusted in Europe as far as football is concerned. The goats have been separated from the sheep. Some teams are in celebration mood whereas some are back to the drawing board. My favourite whipping team, Manchester United made me proud as usual. Liverpool failed to deliver, Manchester city fumbled and ARSENAL enjoyed a pretty good season. The self acclaimed Special One is back to normal service. Next season is gonna be interesting. Just hope LVG repeats this season's magic.
In Germany, Pep's arse is on fire as he failed to deliver the UCL trophy once again. His Bundesliga success is poor by Bayern's and his unusually high standards. Injuries to crucial players played a crucial role though as they crashed to Barca and Dortmund in the UCL and DFB Pokal respectively. Wolfsburg have been rewarded with a return to UCL football and the DFB Pokal trophy. Mou must be wondering why he let De Bruyne go. Jurgen Klopp will surely be missed by Dortmund and the Bundesliga.
The status quo has been preserved in Italy as Juventus danced to the Serie A title once again. Roma and the chasing park flattered to deceive once again. Juve's Copa Italia win also means that they on the verge of a historic treble. The monsters, Barcelona will be a tough nut to cracl in the UCL final. Chellini's rumored injury does Juve no favours. They have nothing to lose though and will leave Berlin with pride irrespective of the result. A Juve victory will be a perfect end to the season for me and my fellow Madridistas. Barca, una own don too much. Haba, na only una dey?
In Spain, the mighty Los Blancos have faltered once again. Florentino Perez and his galacticos project has disappointed again. How a business man believes he's more knowledgeable than the World's best coaches still baffles me. Ancelotti delivered 4 trophies last season and suddenly, he's not good enough. The choice of Benitez as his replacement is annoying. The 'Del Bosque error' may play out again. Let's hope Rafa's Madrid roots help him to succeed. Failure has no friends in the world's most successful club. Madrid has to return to the good old years. One UCL and Liga title in 7 years is totally unacceptable.
Barcelona have come good this season largely due to an effective Latin MSN connection driven by Messi, the robot. The double has been achieved already and only Juve stands in the way of a treble. It will take an exceptional performance from Juventus to stop Barca who are the favourites. However with fighters like Pogba, Tevez, Vidal, Moratta and the Legends Buffon and Pirlo, 'impossible is nothing'. Pirlo and Buffon won the world cup with Italy at Berlin in 2006. Present form favours Barcelona but 'the gods' may just tilt this one Juve's way. It's gonna be an epic final. Let the best team win. I also look forward to watching Messi in the Copa America. He needs to deliver outside Barca. Now, we are back to the season of boring weekends. I hope our Flying Eagles and Falcons make Nigeria proud. It's ALL OVER.
