It's trekking season in Nigeria. It started as a response to a dare. A die-hard Buhari supporter allegedly trekked from Lagos to Abuja in 13 days. The huge reception he received has prompted others to join the bandwagon. We've heard stories of other trekkers from Yola and Borno respectively to Abuja. All ostensibly to congratulate our President-elect. Most of these claims are unverified.
We have a new league of trekkers led by Oladele John Nihi. He set out to reverse the trend by travelling from
Abuja to Bayelsa on foot to congratulate GEJ for bowing out gracefully. Present reports indicate that he is resting in Edo State to continue his sojourn tomorrow. His case is backed by 'Empirical Evidence' of pictures taking at various locations enroute. I salute their courage and patriotism.
One thing is certain -Trekking has become a trend in Nigeria. More Episodes will be unveiled in the coming days and weeks. The high rate of unemployment and under employment only serves to aggravate these tendencies. Sit tight friends. The hustle is REAL and these hustles may be rewarded. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
