A top appointee of President Muhammadu Buhari has been arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS).

The individual arrested is a member of the Presidential Investigative Committee on Arms Procurement.

A man claiming to be the Orlando shooter's lover says Omar Mateen was livid after discovering he'd had sex with an HIV-positive man. The Hispanic gay man, identified only as Miguel, told Univision he met Omar Mateen on Grindr before they became 'friends with benefits', meeting up 20 times at a hotel in Orlando, Florida.

Miguel described Mateen as a confused gay man and a heavy drinker who was attracted to - but felt rejected by - Latinos.

Islamic Extremist kills twenty, injures many in Florida gay club

A gunman has stormed a gay nightclub in Florida and killed about twenty people.
The suspected Islamic extremist  has been identified as US citizen Omar Mateen, from Port St. Lucie in Florida.

The gunman, who was born to Afghan parents, was carrying a suspicious device, possibly a suicide vest, when he opened fire on the dance floor inside Pulse in the early hours of this morning.Mailonline reports.

Orlando Police Chief John Mina said authorities have not determined the exact number of people killed, but that 'approximately 20' have died. Another 42 people 
were taken to hospital.According to witnesses,the lone gunmen began firing inside the Pulse Club in Orlando shortly after 2am.

Nimbo Community gripped by fear as Fulani herdsmen threaten to attack again

Nimbo community has, again, become a ghost town following the return of Fulani herdsmen who allegedly raped no fewer than six women.
Traditional ruler of the community, Igwe John Ikemefuna Akoh revealed this to Nsukka General Assembly when the group paid a visit to his palace before making a donation of over N1.4 million to the victims of the April 25 massacre in the community.

Former President Jonathan has repudiated a newspaper publication indicating that he returned last Wednesday from Cote d’Ivoire, a country the paper claimed, he allegedly considered going into exile. A story in This Day of Saturday 04 June, 2016 entitled ‘Buhari Holds Secret Meeting with Jonathan, Niger Delta Tops Agenda’, had insisted that President Jonathan had gone on self-exile for fear of being arrested.

However, dismissing the allegation as false, insensitive and tendentious, the former President warned newspapers to desist from reckless sensationalism. Dr. Jonathan who stressed that he returned from the United Kingdom and not Cote d’Ivoire as erroneously claimed in the This Day story however reiterated that he “has no intention of turning his back on Nigeria, a homeland he served diligently as President, to the best of his abilities.”

Story of a a First Class graduate that had to beg for Transport fare

Haruspice' Musings shared this touching story of a first class graduate whom he found being beaten up by two men at Area 1 park, Abuja. Read below...

"I have been feeling sore since yesterday following a heart-breaking scene I witnessed at the popular Area 1 Park. Struggling to stop rains of punches on his face was a young guy in his 30s. He was being mercilessly mobbed by two other guys who were cursing, using all sorts of obscenities.

I don't want moved me sha, but I had to alight from my car in rescue of this guy. I managed to stop the guys from their vicious dexterities on this guy but not without getting a slight scratch on my left ear. In between shoving, I managed to push this guy into my car as I drove away to a distant into safety. I could hear the guys shouting after us, threatening to end his life if he dares return to join them. Distant away to 
safety, I asked the visibly shaken guy what the 
problem was and thus went into a heart shattering narrative that left me perpetually sore.
