Donald Trump names daughter, Ivanka as special assistant

President of the United States of America, Donald Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, has announced that she would take up an appointment in her father’s administration.
Ivanka, in a statement on Wednesday, said she will be a Special Assistant to the President but will not take a salary.

Florida woman enslaved a woman for two years and tried to impregnate her with boyfriend's sperm

Esthela Clark, 47, paid $3,000 to bring another woman, 22, from Mexico, she held her captive in her home in Jacksonville, Florida and then tried to impregnate her with her boyfriend's sperm. 

The Mexican woman, whose name was not given, revealed to federal agents that Esthela did all sorts of horrible things to her.
She said that Esthela forbade her from leaving her one-bedroom condominium, telling her that the neighborhood was dangerous and she would most likely get killed if she went out. She also told her that she would find out if she tried to hide anything from her because she reads Tarot cards. 

SENATE SUSPENDS ALI NDUME FOR SIX MONTHS

The senate on Wednesday suspended senator Muhammed Ali Ndume for six months by the Senate over his allegations against Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melaye.
Senator Ali, was found guilty of not “making due diligence” before filing a petition against the Saraki and Melaye.

Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions made the recommendation in its report, which was considered by the lawmakers at the plenary on Wednesday.

Saraki denies EFCC’s claim that he used his aides to launder N3.5 billion Paris Club Loan Refund

The EFCC has reportedly indicted the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and some of his aides in the alleged laundering of up to N3.5 billion from the Paris Club Loan Refund.

According to Channels TV, a source at the antigraft agency says investigation by some of its officials have revealed that some persons with close links to Saraki were used to launder N3.5 billion from the paris club refund.

A South Florida woman was arrested Sunday on charges of neglect and filing a false report after she made up a story that her 6-year-old daughter had been kidnapped.

Maria Irias, 29, admitted making up the story, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

CYNTHIA OSOKOGU'S MURDERERS SENTENCED TO DEATH

Justice finally had it’s way as a Lagos State High Court in Igbosere sentenced to death Okwumo Nwabufo and Olisaeloka Ezike who were charged with the murder of a postgraduate student of Nasarawa State University, Cynthia Osokogu.
The deceased was murdered by the convicts on July 22, 2012 at Cosmilla Hotel, Lake View Estate, Festac Town, Lagos.

WHY SENATE REJECTED 82 YEAR OLD AMBASSADORIAL NOMINEE

The 82-year-old retired judicial officer, Justice Sylvanus Nsofor,  who told a Senate panel that Information Technology was not meant for people of his age and failed to recite the National Anthem, yesterday, had his nomination to be an ambassador rejected by the Senate.

Justice Nsofor, who retired from the judiciary in 2005 and came in frail and feeble for the Senate screening, had also dismissed questions about his capacity to work when he directed the senators to “go and ask Robert Mugabe who is still working.”

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER BEING DUMPED BY GIRLFRIEND

A Ugandan High school student took his own life after he was dumped by his girlfriend.
According to a Facebook User, Jersey Sarprise, who shared the photos, the young man hanged himself to a tree after reportedly receiving a letter from his estranged bae, telling him she has found a new handsome boyfriend.

BOKO HARAM KINGPIN ARRESTED IN EKITI'

A suspected Boko Haram kingpin, Adenoyi Abdulsalam, has been arrested by a joint team of the Department of State Services and the military in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

A statement issued by an operative of the service in Abuja on Wednesday, Mr Tony Opuiyo, said that an Ak-47 rifle was recovered from the suspect who is presently undergoing investigation.

Opuiyo added that the suspect was in the final stages of kidnapping some high-level targets in Ekiti to raise funds and terrorise communities in the state.

HUMAN TRAFFICKERS MAKE $150 BILLION YEARLY -UN

At least 21 million people are victims of human trafficking, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres said on Wednesday, adding that the traffickers are smiling to the bank with $150billion every year.

Guterres, who made the remarks at the ‘Ministerial Open Debate on Trafficking in Persons in Conflict Situations: Forced labour, slavery and other similar practices’ organised by the Security Council, condemned the rising cases of human trafficking and describing it as appalling.
The UN scribe estimated that traffickers made $150 billion annually through different forms of human trafficking and called for strong efforts to stop the evil trade.

SMUGGLERS FLOOD NIGERIAN MARKETS WITH POISONOUS FISHES

Smugglers are beginning to flood the markets with harmful frozen fish illegally brought into the country through land borders, the Federal Government has said.

According to the government, the smugglers bring in all sorts of frozen fish such as tilapia, red pacus, river bream, pangassius, horse mackerel, sardine, and croaker through the country’s land borders.
It, however, vowed to clamp down on the perpetrators and declared that anyone found importing frozen fish without licence from the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development risked a five-year jail term or a fine of $250,000, or both.

O.J. Simpson is set to cash in on his notoriety by appearing on reality TV when he is released from prison this year.

MILITARY VETERANS BLAST TRUMP ON TWITTER OVER MILITARY OUTFIT

U.S President Donald Trump, on Thursday night angered military veterans after he wore a military flight jacket and an admiral's cap during a a tour of the new Gerald R. Ford carrier in Newport News, Virginia on Wednesday night.

Trump, who promised to boost defence spending during the tour, was blasted on Twitter by some U.S Military veterans that felt his decision to sport the jacket and cap was hypocritical, given that he had previously received five deferments from the Vietnam war draft.
