Nigerians in the Diaspora are contributing immensely to the development of their host countries, instead of helping Nigeria to achieve technological and economic growth, although they send remittances home for the upkeep of their immediate families in Nigeria. These people with skills, expertise, and knowledge can be lured back to Nigeria in order that they should contribute their quotas towards the development of Nigeria.

50 Cent offering to pay his creditors $23 million over 5 years

50 Cent has reached a deal with his creditors that stipulate he pay $23 million dollars over the next five years.The amount works out to be around $400,000 a month and is 74 per cent of what he originally owed them.

APC not prepared for Leadership -Bishop Isong

General Overseer of the Christian Central Chapel International, Bishop Emmah Gospel Isong, has slammed the APC-led Federal Government over the controversy trailing the 2016 budget.

He has also criticised the Federal Government for abandoning the Calabar-Itu Road for decades leading to avoidable deaths on the road that links Akwa-Ibom and Cross Rivers states to the rest of the country.

Speaking in an interview with Vanguard, he decried the deplorable state of the Calabar-Itu Road, saying; “I believe Calabar-Itu Road was one of the reasons the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was kicked out at the national level and I am praying it should not be the reason the All Progressives Congress, APC would be kicked out in 2019. That is how angry our people are about the Calabar-Itu Road, which is very crucial to the socio-economic development of Nigeria. It is the oldest road in the South-South and the road that links the two sister states of Akwa-Ibom and Cross River.

“I pray that the Federal Government should look at it as the major reason it should continue to conduct elections either for PDP or APC. His assessment of the APC-led Federal Government so far.”

EFCC arrests Jonathan's cousin for $40 milllion contract scam

President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Azibaola Roberts, remains in detention over a $40million (N12.7b) contract obtained from the Office of the National Security Adviser(ONSA) to ‘pacify’ militants in the Niger Delta.

Roberts, who was arrested alongside colleague Dakoru Atukpa, is the Managing Director of Kakatar Construction and Engineering Company Limited and One-Plus Holdings.
Gordy Uche (SAN), accused the EFCC of embarking on a vendetta mission against the ex-President.He said Roberts is being persecuted because of his blood link with Jonathan.


The EFCC arrested Roberts and Dakoru on March 23 as part of the ongoing probe of 300 companies involved in phantom contracts at the ONSA.

NNPC receives 7 cargoes of petrol to ease scarcity

As part of efforts to ease off the lingering fuel scarcity being experienced nationwide, NNPC yesterday said it has taken delivery of 7 cargo ships with fuel. The Executive Director, Supply and Distribution, Pipeline Products and Marketing Company, Justin Ezeala, made this known to newsmen in Lagos.

Customs blames CBN for 230 billion revenue shortfall

Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), retired Col. Hameed Ali, has said that the service had a revenue shortfall of N230 billion in the last quarter of 2015.
Ali made the disclosure during a Consultative Forum between Customs and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) held at the Customs Training School, Ikeja, Lagos.
He attributed the shortfall to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) policies, adding that the service pleaded for sympathetic consideration by the CBN to review the policies.

FG Hasn’t Reversed Decision To Remove Fuel Subsidy – PPPRA

Contrary to media speculation, the federal government has not reversed its decision to remove subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, also known as petrol, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, has said.

Troops rescue 11,595 hostages from Boko Haram terrorists in the last one month

According to a statement by the Nigerian Army, no fewer than 11,595 persons held hostage by the terrorists have been rescued by the troops within the last one month. Most of these persons were rescued at various areas and towns where remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists were hibernating before the clearance operations by various formations and units in the theatre, while some were received from the neighbouring Cameroon.
